On Real Virginia: Farmers, schools serve up local foods
This month on Real Virginia, Virginia Farm Bureau’s weekly television program, you can see how locally sourced foods served in schools benefit whole communities. The show also features Southwest Virginia farmers who are cooking up a new opportunity in the form of maple syrup.

Meet a Nottoway County couple who’ve been recognized nationally for their farming achievements, and see the significant agricultural activity taking place in Wise County.

Real Virginia can be viewed online and airs nationwide at 3:30 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month on RFD-TV on Dish Network and DirecTV, and on selected cable outlets around the state. It airs weekly on WVPT Harrisonburg, WBRA Roanoke, WCVE Richmond, WHRO Norfolk, WVVA Bluefield and WTKR Norfolk.

If you are a Virginia Farm Bureau producer member, your next issue of Virginia Farm Bureau News magazine will arrive in April. Producer members, your next issue of Cultivate magazine will be published in May. Current and back issues of both magazines can be viewed online.
