Emergency Family Communication

According to FEMA creating your Family Emergency Communication Plan starts with one simple question: “What if?”

What if you are separated from your loved ones during an emergency? What would you do? What would your children do? What will you do with your pets? Preparing a family communication plan ahead of disaster can help give you peace of mind.

  1. Collect any contact information you think is valuable to your family. Make sure to list a second emergency meetup location if traveling to your home isn't an option.
  2. Share this information with your family members. Print it out, fold it up, and tuck it into your child’s backpack or your own wallet. Take a snapshot and save it in your phone.
  3. Review your plan with your family. Make sure everyone knows the game plan for emergencies.

Download the foldable booklet, fill it out and share it with your family!

We’ve created a handy Family Communication Plan in a foldable booklet for your family to use. We've included space for the information we think is most valuable in a disaster.
